RECORDS REGISTRY PROGRAM

Psychologists are legally responsible for safely storing all client records.  To streamline the process by which clients access their files after a therapist retires/closes a practice, NHPA has created a Records Registry program.  Therapists provide NHPA with the location and contact information of where clients can locate their records.  Clients will be instructed by the therapist to contact NHPA to retrieve that information.

Therapists: There is a one-time enrollment fee.  $100 for NHPA members and $200 for non-members.  No additional fees will be charged should you need to change the information on file.  Click here to access the Records Registry program enrollment form.

Clients: If your therapist participates in this program, all you need to do is contact NHPA, and we will share with you the contact information of the person/business that stores your records.
