Program Description:
During this presentation, attendees will learn somatic psychotherapy theory and tools that can help with the treatment of anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress related conditions. This learning day will prioritize experiential learning so that those in attendance can leave with an embodied sense of how these somatic techniques may be useful in their everyday work with clients, as well as in their own lives.

Learning Objectives:
1.  Describe at least 3 ways polyvagal theory can be used to inform clinical assessment
2.  Explain at least 3 benefits of body-based interventions
3.  Assess and regulate one's own physiological arousal to enhance one's capacity for flexible responses
4. Assess clients for indications of survival physiology that are manifesting as anxiety or depression
5. Utilize at least 3 experiential, somatic treatment interventions in clinical practice

About the Presenter:
Danielle Murphy, LCSW SEP is a Psychotherapist and Consultant in private practice in New York City and Pennsylvania. She is the founder of Somatic Freedom Psychotherapy, which is a group practice aiming to create a safe space for all people to feel welcome and seen as they connect with their own unique ability to heal. She holds a Masters in Social Work from New York University. Danielle has been working with the resolution of traumatic stress for over 15 years. She incorporates different treatment modalities into her work, with an emphasis on body-oriented techniques. Danielle is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who has trained extensively and taught widely about the importance of including the body in the treatment of traumatic stress. Additionally, Danielle is currently serving on the United States Association of Body Psychotherapy’s Board of Directors.

3 - 5 people = $15 off individual rate (member/non-member)
6 - 8 people = $20 off individual rate (member/non-member)
8 + people = $25 off individual rate (member/non-member)

Paying with a check: 
Checks must be received within one week of the event. If payment has not been received, registrant will still have option to pay online with a credit card up until the day before the program. If an invoice remains open on the day of the event, the registrant will not be allowed to attend.

Cancellation policy: 
Refunds, minus a 10% cancellation fee, will be issued for all cancellations received two weeks prior to the start of the course. No refunds or vouchers will be made thereafter. No-shows are not refunded.

Attendance policy:
Full attendance is required to obtain CEs per NHPA policy. No partial credit will be given. Those who attend the workshop and complete the evaluation form will receive 6 continuing education credits. Please note that APA CE rules require that we only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. Those arriving after the scheduled start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credits. 

Registrations are Transferable: 
Registrants can transfer an event confirmation to another individual. The NHPA office must be notified of the transfer at least 24 hours prior to the event.
