Town Hall Regarding HB2/OPLC Merging of Boards

NHPA will be holding a town hall on Monday, March 6 1p-2p to gather information regarding the proposed OPLC's merging of the Board of Psychology, Board of Mental Health, and Board of Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals.  We understand and empathize with the emotions this legislation raises, particularly given much dedication and efforts from 2009 to 2013 to create a separate Board of Psychology.  Given limited time, we are holding a town hall with the focus of gathering the following information to help us all in advocacy efforts:
1) factual experiences from psychologists who were licensed under the Board of Mental Health that led psychologists to separate from the Board of Mental Health Practice
2) current factual experiences with the licensure process that resulted in delays in increasing workforce that may be leading to an omnibus board so we are prepared to address them
3) future concerns of how an omnibus board would be harmful to public safety given the wording proposed in HB2 330-A

We understand that there are many perspectives and thoughts that members would like to share to have their voices heard.  We will keep the town hall structured to the above topics and each person succinct to allow for all attending to be heard if they choose to speak.
